Heren 1 heeft afgelopen zondagmiddag met een vrijwel complete selectie de tweede offici?le competitiewedstrijd gespeeld tegen Apollo uit Son en Breugel. De heren moesten het zondag nog zonder Danny de Molenaar (rugblessure) doen, zaterdag kwam nog wel het goede nieuws dat Stijn Reijntjes gewoon aanwezig zou zijn.
De heren begonnen de wedstrijd zeer sterk en scherp, vooral Roland van Dongen was vanaf het eerste fluitsignaal op dreef. Binnen enkele minuten stond het 6-1 waarvan Roland er drie op zijn naam mocht zetten door vanuit de verdediging een snelle aanval op te zetten. Na de ruime voorsprong in de beginminuten zakte de heren wat verder terug en kon Apollo hun eigen spelletje gaan spelen. Hierdoor kwam Apollo een paar punten dichtbij. Na een paar slordige tegengoals konden de heren van Groene Ster het spel weer oppakken en de voorsprong weer vergroten.
Heel de wedstrijd heeft Groene Ster de wedstrijd in handen gehad, alleen door een aantal zwakke momenten en persoonlijke fouten is het een wedstrijd gebleven.
