In een zinderende, maar bovenal sportieve wedstrijd is een sterke tweede helft voldoende om de winst te pakken.

 

Voorafgaand aan de wedstrijd tegen Avanti werd er weer eens rondgekeken in de kleedkamer. Slechts 2 veldwissels, een gebrek aan opbouwers en een oude bekende in de vorm van Ben Schalk die als tweede keeper er weer eens bij zat. Maar waar sommigen mensen zich druk maken, smeden anderen strijdplannen. Den Danny mocht dit keer voor midachter spelen en Timmetje mocht zijn haar showen op de midvoor.

Ondanks de ge?mproviseerde opstelling, begonnen onze mannen sterk aan de wedstrijd. Vrij vroeg werd er een 3-1 voorsprong gepakt, maar halverwege de eerste helft ging het helemaal mis. Door blessures en vermoeidheid moest er worden doorgewisseld, maar de schwung verdween helemaal uit het spel. Er werden geen kansen meer gecre?erd en verdedigend stonden de linies te ver uit elkaar, waardoor de cirkel van Avanti keer op keer werd vrijgespeeld. Tel daarbij op een aantal ongelukkige schoten die van richting werden veranderd en daardoor achter keeper Jeroen vielen en de ruststand van 8-13 was een feit.

 

In de kleedkamer moest het strijdplan duidelijk worden aangepast en in de tweede helft bleek dat ook te gaan gebeuren. de mid-voor ging iets compacter staan, waardoor de ruimtes voor de cirkelspeler van Avanti er niet meer waren. Ook aanvallend werd er een klein beetje geschoven om toch tot meer kansen te kunnen komen. Dit alles had een positief resultaat, want na 10 minuten in de tweede helft was de achterstand al teruggebracht naar 2-3 doelpunten.

Timmetje en Danny heersten in de verdediging, het team ging er steeds meer in geloven en vocht voor elkaar. Avanti cre?erde bijna geen kans meer, voelde de druk zichtbaar toenemen en zag 10 minuten voor tijd Groene Ster langszij komen. Toen Avanti vervolgens een tijdstraf kreeg, de enige in een bijzonder sportieve wedstrijd, sloegen de heren definitief toe en pakten een kleine voorsprong. De wedstrijd werd daarna op een slimme manier uitgespeeld door Groene Ster. De score van de tweede helft was uiteindelijk een indrukwekkende 16-8, de eindstand 24-21 in het voordeel van Groene Ster.
