De heren 1 van Groene Ster hebben donderdagavond de eerste bekerwedstrijd van het seizoen gespeeld. In de eerste ronde van de beker moest er gespeeld worden tegen derdeklasser Blauw-Wit uit Den Bosch. De eerste paar minuten ging het gelijk op tussen beide teams. Er werd door beide teams om en om gescoord. De eerste goals van Groene Ster waren van Bart die vanuit de opbouw moeiteloos het net vond. Helaas door fouten in de verdediging zorgde dit niet gelijk voor een voorsprong. Voorafgaand aan de wedstrijd werd er vanuit gegaan dat Groene Ster vanaf het begin over Blauw-Wit zou lopen, maar verrassend genoeg bleef de?ploeg uit Den Bosch mede door de verdedigende fouten van Groene Ster in het spoor. Na een kwartier werd er eindelijk een tandje bij gedaan en was gelijk duidelijk dat Blauw-Wit te kort zou komen. Groene Ster stond verdedigend feller en aanvallend werd er meer op snelheid gespeeld. Beide teams gingen met een stand van 17-12 te kleedkamers in. Ook al was er een voorsprong voor Groene Ster, het spel moest nog een stuk beter.
In de tweede helft was al snel duidelijk wie de winnaar van deze wedstrijd zou gaan worden. Groene Ster was gewoon een klasse beter alleen liet dat niet altijd zien. Door een aantal snelle en goed uitgespeelde aanvallen werd het verschil groter. De eindstand was 37-26 in het voordeel van Groene Ster. Groene Ster gaat dus door naar de volgende ronde van de beker waar ze het waarschijnlijk op mogen nemen tegen Aristos. De 30e goal van de thuisploeg werd gemaakt door Tim (dank hiervoor!).
