Heren 1 moest vroeg uit bed voor de volgende wedstrijd van het seizoen. Er stond namelijk een uitwedstrijd gepland om 11.35 uur in Helmond tegen Swift. Op de ranglijst is het verschil tussen beide teams 2 punten (Groene Ster stond derde en Swift Helmond stond op de vijfde plek). Eerder dit seizoen werd het in Zevenbergen 35-26 in het voordeel van Groene Ster.

Groene Ster begon sterk aan de wedstrijd en had gelijk door dat Swift op snelheid te pakken was. Door die snelheid werd er gewoon een klein gaatje gemaakt. Het lukte Groene Ster alleen niet om het sterke spel vast te houden. Door de voorsprong werd de concentratie niet vast gehouden en werden er wat foutjes gemaakt. Hierdoor kwam Swift weer een paar punten terug. De ruststand was 11-14 in het voordeel van Groene Ster. Drie punten voor met rust was netjes maar niet genoeg. Groene Ster was heel de wedstrijd de bovenliggende partij en moest de voorsprong vergroten.

De eerste minuten van de tweede helft werd er dus ook aangezet en zorgde voor een voorsprong van tien punten. Wat in de eerste helft niet lukte, lukte in de tweede helft wel. Iedereen bleef geconcentreerd en wilde werken voor elkaar. Met deze voorsprong was de wedstrijd al gespeeld, dat was vooral te merken aan de mannen van Swift. Aanvallend zat er niks meer in en verdedigend waren ze telkens net te laat waardoor Groene Ster een aantal pingels kreeg. Groene Ster heeft deze wedstrijd overtuigend gewonnen met 23-35. De 30e is deze wedstrijd gemaakt door Michael. Hij deed er nog alles aan om niet te scoren (5 passen, second-dribbel), maar de scheids liet doorgaan en noteerde weer een doelpunt. Door deze overwinning blijft Groene Ster op de derde plek staan.

Volgende week zaterdag staat er een thuiswedstrijd op de planning tegen Orion Rucphen.
